Abbey Hotel New Driving Range Launch

The 4 star Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa in Redditch was delighted to host a spectacular event to launch the opening of their new professional golf driving range.

The VIP event which took place on the evening of Sunday 11th November welcomed over 100 guests who were greeted to a reception of mulled wine and punch, followed by a warming pig roast.

After an official ribbon cutting by former Ryder Cup player and 6 time European Tour winner Paul Broadhurst, guests were led onto the floodlit range to view an impressive trick shot performance from David Edwards. David Edwards is widely regarded as one of the best trick shot golf stars in the business and has previously performed at the 2010 Ryder Cup and the 2011 Solheim Cup, to name but a few.

His trick shot performance amazed guests on the night with David using an array of unlikely props such as claw hammers, hosepipes and fishing rods, to perform breathtaking swings. David was keen to encourage audience participation which saw one fearless guest laying flat on his back on the ground, holding a high tee between his teeth while David hit a ball off it.

Following David’s performance, professional golfer Paul Broadhurst was then in action on the Abbey range, wowing guests with his talents whilst giving valuable golf tips. Once the show was over guests warmed up back at the hotel with hot chocolate and delicious cakes.

The new covered 2 tier floodlit Abbey Driving Range features 28 bays, automated ball dispensers, large high quality target greens, heated teaching bays and a custom fit centre using Trackman technology (the choice for swing and ball flight analysis by golf’s leading authority), the only Midlands club to feature this technology! For frequent golf range users range membership is available where you can save on ball prices. The Abbey range is open everyday until 10.00pm for further details visit www.theabbeyhotel.co.uk
