Pope Benedict XVI to visit Birmingham

A momentous occasion as Pope Benedict XVI will visit Birmingham as part of a four day visit to the UK. The Pope will lead a public open-air Mass in Birmingham's Cofton Park on Sunday 19th September 2010. The mass will mark the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman.  Fittingly Cardinal Newman was buried in Rednal, Birmingham and the place where Newman and his community came for rest and recreation was the Lickey Hills. Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the special Mass on 19th September. With this high number of visitors The 4 star Abbey Hotel in Redditch is ideal, with great accommodation rates and only 8 miles from Cofton Park.
