Worcester Warriors hit the new Abbey Range

Three Worcester Warriors rugby players took up a new sport at the Abbey Hotel in Redditch, practicing their golf swing on the new Abbey Driving Range.

On Wednesday 21st November, the 4 star Abbey Hotel Golf and Spa welcomed the Warriors to t
est out their golfing skills on their new professional driving range. Players included star performer and Worcester born and bred full back player Chris Pennell and back row dynamos Matt Kvesic and Blair Cowan.

The Warriors trio each took swings on the range, aiming for the rugby post target, one of the furthest targets on the outfield. To assist, Head Abbey Golf Professional - Rob Davies gave valuable golf tips and advice to the players.

The new covered 2 tier Abbey Driving Range features 28 bays, including 3 heated teaching bays, an outfield with state-of-the-art lighting, automated ball dispensers and 3 artificial turf target greens made by a company that builds and supplies practice greens for some of the world’s professional players. There is also a specialist custom fitting centre using leading manufacturers fit carts and launch monitor technology to deliver a first class fitting experience that will benefit any standard of golfer. For frequent golf range users, range membership is available where you can save on ball prices. The Abbey range is open every day until 10.00pm for further details visit www.theabbeyhotel.co.uk
